There was still a week before Ami was supposed to board the Hogwarts Express, but she insisted on shopping for her supplies. She was so excited, she had to do something to prepare or she thought she'd internally combust.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Amaril had grown up with the prospect in her future. Lacking older siblings, she hadn't heard any stories about the school, so it was a mystery to her. A mystery she planned on exploring in the near future.
Her letter had come in the mail only a couple days before. Ami had made her mum agree to take her to Diagon Alley. Their first stop? Madam Malkin's Robes For All Occasions. To Ami, her uniform was one of the most important parts of being a Hogwarts student, only behind her wand.
She stood in front a mirror, wearing the robes, while Madam Malkin fussed around her. The woman had a measuring tape and pin cushion floating beside her. Ami was standing patiently, and gave her mother and brother a smile from across the room.

"Hello! You're a new student too? I can tell because of the robes. I'm new too!" Rebecca, who was waiting for her robes to be fitted too, was standing right next to Ami. "I'm Rebecca Arabell Berns, soon to be the best hit-selling author of the greatest book of the century!" She seemed to have practiced this introduction. "What's your name?" Rebecca quickly added "What house do you want to be in? I want to be in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, that's the houses my parents were in. You don't want to be in Slytherin do you? My Mum and Dad said that Slytherins are normally not very nice."
Rebecca was alone in the shop because her Triplet brother and sister already got their robes fitted and were getting their wands right now. Dad was at work and Mum was with them. Rebecca didn't really care though. She was ok with being alone.

Ami smiled at the girl standing next to her. She asked a lot a questions. "I'm Amaril Bence and I don't have a title. I want to be in Ravenclaw or Gryffindor because I hear Ravenclaws are the smartest." she paused to draw breath, "My mum was in Ravenclaw, but I don't know my dad. And no, I don't want to be in Slytherin." After she finished answering the questions, Ami knew that she liked this girl. It seemed like a good sign that the first person from Hogwarts she met was nice, but Ami wasn't naive enough to believe that everyone would be this friendly.
Madam Malkin was now switching working between the two girls. Ami was amazed that she could mulit-task so well. She doubted she'd ever be able to work as efficiently as this shop owner.

"Oh good. I was afraid that I was going to have to hate you." Rebecca smiled. "You're all done, honey." Madame Malkin said. "Thank you." Rebecca hopped off the pedestal. "I'm sure we'll be seeing each other again. Nice meeting you." Rebecca waved and skipped out of the store.

Elliott was very energetic when he entered Madam Malkin's Robes because he wasn't sure what to except. Elliott quickly shuffled over avoiding the robes stacked neatly on the shelves. He saw a young lady who looked like she was also going to Hogwarts and a woman that looked like Madame Malkin. She was measuring the young child with what looked like a measuring tape that was floating in mid-air. Elliott couldn't believe his eyes. Elliott quickly shuffled over to where the young girl was and smiled as he made eye contact with her.
He put his arm forward. "Dames, Elliott Dark Dames." Elliott said confidently as he smiled then took a seat opposite her.

Ami looked up at the newcomer. He looked to be her age and she wondered if she was shopping early or not. It appeared that everone her age was shopping today. She briefly grasped his hand. "I'm Amaril Bence. My friends call me Ami, though." At least, she figured they would if she had friends. It was what her family called her, anyway, and it seemed like a good nickname.
"You're ready to go, dear." Madam Malkin said, and walked away once Ami handed her money. She slid off her robes and held them tenderly in her arms. Her first step on her way to Hogwarts was done and if anything she was only more excited to get there. She looked at the boy. "Are you a First Year too?" she asked.

Elliott looked straight at her as Madam Malkin had finished with her. "Yes I am," Elliott said as he chuckled and took his owled letter to show Ami. "You doing some shopping I presume?" Elliot said as he saw the robes in her hands. "Hello there dear, you a first year?" Madam Malkin said as she forced him to stand straight as she measured him with the magical measuring tape. Elliott nodded as he saw that Madam Malkin nodded and took measurements, "Your quite a tally for your age aren't you?" Elliott smiled but he wasn't that much taller than the others.

Ami smiled and nodded at the boy's question. She placed her robes into one of the bags sitting in a stack by the wall and took the now-vacated seat. She felt weird just watching Elliott get fitted, but her mum wasn't coming to get her for another couple minutes. To avoid watching the fitting, Ami looked around the walls, but there wasn't much to interest her. Only a few pictures of different sets of dress robes, but even that didn't hold her attention long.
She tried to think of something to ask him, but she felt like she shouldn't talk to him while he was being measured. "Are you planning on getting an animal?" Ami finally decided to ask. It was the first question that came to her mind because she wasn't sure what kind of pet she wanted to get. She was torn between getting an owl or cat.

With a jingle, the door open and a little girl with chocolate brown hair and large blue eyes entered the store. She stood in front of the door unsure of what to do. "I'll be right with you." Madame Malkin said through a bunch of pins in her mouth. The little girl nodded her head and sat herself next to a girl that looked the same age as her. "Hi,I'm Artemis Zeal. You are?" She asked kindly, tilting her head as she always did when she was curious.

Elliott saw Madam Malkin took a lot of measurements with his tape. "Ahh. Just as I expected." Elliott could make out her whisper as she wizzed past the shop to get a robe. "Try it on dear," She said as she handed it to him. He unbuttoned the buttoms and put both his arms in. What a great fit. The bottom didn't touch the ground and the sleeves were perfect. "Thank you!" Elliott said as he handed her 4 sickles and 2 knuts for the robe. Elliott kept it on as he replied Ami's question.
Elliott hadn't thought about an animal. He wanted to get a owl or a wolf. Elliott shurged. "Prehaps an owl or a wolf? Yeh a wolf," Elliott said as he grinned. " I hope they sell them here, Well they do have everything here." Elliott smiled.

Ami smiled, a wolf would be an awesome pet. "That'd be really cool." she said, "I'm thinking of a cat or an owl." Owls could be useful by carrying mail, but it'd be nice to have a cat to cuddle up with at night. Honestly, Ami would prefer to get both, but her parents were making her choose. "I think I'll get a cat though."
She then looked up at the newcomer who sat next to her. "I'm Amaril Bence." she said for what felt like the millionth time that day, though it was really only the third. "You can call me Ami, though."

"Yeh a cat would be nice but cats are more for girls, I guess," Elliott said as he swayed his black hair out of his eyes, he needed a haircut but he didn't want one. "I think yeh, a wolf because I guess i could teach it how to send letters." Elliott said as he chuckled then turned to the girl who was sitting next to Ami.
"Hey! I'm Elliott, Elliott Dark Dames," Elliott said as he grinned as he looked at her brown hair. She looked like someone he knew tho he didnt say who.

Erica Ligtwood walked into Madam Malkin's Robes For All Occasions withn her older brother Tyler who had graduated the year before. Glancing through the store she sneered at a group of first years that were talking in a small group. Pushing through the group she walked over to Madm Malkin who rolled her eyes. Signing Madam Malkin grabbed a few boxes and said "Here you go Erica." Saying this Tyler took the boxes and gave Madam Malkin the money for the already perfect fitted robes. Smirking her perfect smirk she pushed her way through the group oince again and started out the door with her brother right behind her.

Artemis glared at the girl that just walked in. How dare she push her way through without saying excuse me?! How rude! She turned her attention back to the boy named Elliot and smiled.
"Nice to meet you both." She tilted her head to the side as she stared at the boy thoughtfully, "Do I know you? You look awfully familiar..."

Lasair Ruarc rand down Diagon Alley. He had forgotten to get fitted for his robes. He dashed down the Alley, his cauldron swinging with his books inside.
"Oh bloody hell!" Lasair said as he looked down at his watch.
He was suppose to pick up an order in half an hour. He dashed into Madam Malkin's Robes For All Occasions. He calmed down, and set his cauldron down on a seat near the door.
"Hogwarts. First year." Lasair said, as Madam Malkin looked up at him. She sent a tape measure to measure him. Lasair saw that a few other students were already getting fitted.
"Oh, hello. I'm Lasair Ruarc." He greeted them.
