Walking into the charms classroom Professor Wright watched her first years take their seats. As she did she noticed some curious faces as they looked at the feathers in front of them. Smiling she said "Today we are learning about the charm Wingardium Leviosa. Would anyone like to explain what the Wingardium Leviosa does for the class?" Saying this she looked around the room with a warm smile she see who hand would come up first.

Putting his hand down he said "The Wingardium Leviosa is the charm that makes objects levitate."

Artemis sat herself behind James and took out her notebook, ready to take notes if asked.
When the professor had ask the question about the levitating spell, she eagerly raised her hand but got beaten to the bunch. She lowered her hand and listen as James answered the question.

Professor Wright smiled and said "That's correct. Three points for Gryffindor." Saying this she added "Today I would like you all to start practicing the spell on the feathers on your desks. The pronunciation is wing-GAR-dee-əm LEV-ee-OH-sə. All you need to do make half a circle and flick your wand." Moving her wan in a half circle and then flicking her wand she said in a calm voice "Wingardium Leviosa." Saying this a book on her desk started floating into the air. Smiling she carefully dropped the book back on the desk and said " I will be coming around in case anyone needs help. You may begin." Saying this she started walking around the room.

Artemis took her wand out of her boot and took a deep calming breath. She reopened her eyes and as she exhale, she moved her wand in a half circle and flicked her wand, saying quietly,
"Wingardium Leviosa." Slowly, the feather lifted from the table and hanged in the air. Artemis grinned,a squeal bubbling in her chest, but she decided to hold it,in case she lost concentration.

Circe smiled as she pulled out her wand. She hardly even rested it on top of the feather before making a half circle and then flicking her wand. Pronouncing it correctly she said, "Wingardium Leviosa." The feather rose up high in the air. Circe looked around the room to see if anyone had got it yet. She noticed that Artemis had already done it.

Miranda, who was sitting by her fellow class mate Circe Sommers, also took out her wand. She then spoke, "Wingardium Leviosa." Her feather, which was all black, but it was quite large, rose into the air. A small smile formed on her lips.

Lasair sat down next to James.
"Nice." He said, watching James' feather levitate in the air.
Lasair raised his own wand. He pointed it at his feather.
He swished and flicked saying "Wingardium Leviosa."
Lasair looked at his feather, now a foot above the desk. He grinned. He set his feather back on the table, reading for another go.

Elliott sat behind Artemis and smiled as he did the swish and flick movement and said "Wingardium Leviosa. As he did the feather lifted into the air and Elliott concentrated on it more as it finally fell down on his desk. Elliott smiled looking at the professor for her next instruction.

Ami sat in the front row and listened intently as Professor Wright spoke. The Wingardium Leviosa charm didn't seem to difficult to do and she looked forward to trying it out. Once the professor gave the okay, she picked up her rosewood wand eagerly.
"Wingardium leviosa." she said, giving her wand the proper swish and flick. She was concentrating so hard on the feather that a crease appeared between her eyebrows. The feather floated up toward the ceiling, then slowly floated back down onto the table. Ami smiled, satisfied, and turned her eyes back toward Professor Wright.

Jason pointed his wand at the feather in front of him and focused on the incantation for the levitation spell. Wingardium Leviousa, Wingardium Leviosa, Wingardium Leviose, is what played constantly over in his head
"Wingardium Leviosa." Jason said aloud.
He flicked his wand as he said the incantation. The feather lifted a few inches off the desk. Smiling, Jason set the feather back on the desk.
"Wingardium Leviosa." Jason said, yet again.
The feather rose once more. Jason was pleased. He, however, kept lifting and dropping the feather, getting as much practice in as possible. Once he was fully confident that he would be able to redo the spell whenever was necessary, Jason turned to see where Professor Wright was.
