Miranda gazed at the Ravenclaw girl. Of course she would get the question right. But Miranda wouldn't really know. Amaril just sounded smart, that's all. And it was the most obvious question too. She then raised her hand to answer the question.

Emile smiled as Amaril answered the question. Yes it was a fairly easy one. But it provided some easy answering points.
"Very good. Five points. Now anyone else?" Emile asked looking around the room. He then pointed to a Slytherin girl. "Ms. Fear?"

Miranda smiled as the Professor called on her. She took a deep breath before replying.
"There are satellites," Miranda replied simply with a smile. "They can be used to map out farther into the universe than telescopes can see."

Emile smiled. That was an easy question too, but nevertheless, they needed some brainstorming. He was sure that his students would be quick at this hour.
"Very good. Five points," Emile replied, looking around the room. "Anyone else?...."

Circe had raised her hand. She had watched the muggle news before so she knew a few things. She had a couple of ideas but wasn't sure if it would count.

"A yes, Ms. Sommers if you will please," Emile said as he saw the young Slytherin's hand go up. Of course no one should be too shy in his class. This was all a learning experience. Even for him.

Circe put her hand down and said, "Well some more simple things that are used are a clock. Without it we wouldn't know if the sun comes up at the same time each day or when the day begins or ends." She paused, "Compasses have also made it much easier to find different type of stars, planents, and constellations."

"Very good," Emile said with a smile. He then walked back to his desk.
"Now for your homework, you will have to give an example of an invention that has helped astronomy. Since the telescope, compass and the clock have been mentioned, those will not be used in your homework. You have until May 24th."
