Boil-Cure Potion "There will be no talking in my class, if you haven't taken a seat before I make mine you will be the first in history to lose points for your house on the first day!" Declared the glaring eye Potions master.
With arms folded he survey the class.
"Do any of you recall the question I ask when you first enrolled? No one?" He ignored any response nor waited for one "I asked why Potions was important to master. "
"The majority of the Healing Arts Potions plays a huge role. From the simple potion we're learning today to blood replenish solutions. I suggest any one looking to enter the profession of Healer to keep up!"
"Potions are also known for mind bending properties like Amortentia and Veritaserum. They can also block the effect of unfriendly spells. Hence why they are so important."
With a quick turn Professor Snape drew his wand over the blank Chalkboard.
"Your first lesson is on the bored." Boil-Cure Potion ingredients:: 1 Tsp. Crush Snakes Fang 1 Stewed Horns-Slug 1/2 cup.Dried Nettles 4 quills of Porcupine Quills
Step one. Bring your water to a boil.
Step Two. Add 1 Tsp. of Crush Snake Fang Stirr three time clock wise.
Step Three.Add the Stewed Horn-Slugs and the Dried Nettles together before stirring clockwise three times.
Step Four. If you did all three steps right your potion should be a copper color. At which stir three times COUNTER-clockwise
Step Five. The copper color should now be gold, remove the cauldron from the fire and place in the Porcupine Quills. Do not stir But let set off the fire.
Failure to remove the potion from the fire makes the brew acidic and likely to melt your cauldron.
After 5 min's the mix should be cool enough to handle. Ladle your sample in to a vial and handle it up at the end of the class.
"I shall be walking around the class room and remember," he said with a smile that on Snape's face was never good "I can give and take away house points."
*Role Play your character making a potion. Posts can interact with other students or mess up a mix. But all who posts are given points.*

Circe was in her seat already. Professor Sanpe didn't seem all that happy to teach here, unlike most of the teachers she has met so far. Circe already decided that she didn't like Potions class. She had a sinking feeling that she wasn't cut for potions. That didn't mean she would stop trying though.
Before Circe started she wrote down what was one the board quickly. You never know when a teacher will give a pop quiz on this stuff. After she was done writing she gathered everything that she needed to make the potion.
Circe put her cauldron full of water over the fire. She covered the top of it so it would come to a boil quicker. Her mom had taught her this trick for cooking, so why not use it in potions? The only catch was that Circe didn't seem to be that talented at cooking. She watched the cauldron waiting for steam to come from under the lid she put on it. That would tell her that it's boiling.

Elliott stared at the board he thought Potions was going to be an awesome class but he didn't dare to speak or make a sound in the classroom. Elliott put his pewter standard size 2, cauldron and his brass set of scales on the bench he was working on and put on his pair of dragon hide protective gloves. On Elliott's bench all the ingredients were on the bench measured and ready. First Elliott went to the taps at the back of the classroom and filled it up to water then carefully brought it back to his bench being carefully not to drop any water on the floor. He lit up the element on the bench and placed the cauldron on it. He waited as then the water in his cauldron bubbled indicated it had boiled. He added the tablespoon of Crush Snake Fang then picked up the steel stool beside the ingredients and stirred them in 3 times clockwise. He looked at the board to check the next step. He added the Stewed Horn-Slugs and Dried Nettles ad the same time before stirring another 3 times clockwise. As it turned a from a brownish copper color to gold. Elliott blew off the fire and took his cauldron off the fire then added the 4 quills of Porcupine Quills. He checked the time then he read the last bit off the board he took of his gloves and then got his vial ready and his steel ready. He looked at the clock again, he still had a few minutes left so he decided to clean up his area. He checked the clock once more as it had been five minutes exactly. He quickly took the steel ladle and popped the lid of his vial and poured in his mixture till it reached the top of his vial then corked the lid back on. He was relieved he had finished.

Circe noticed that steam came out from under the lid. She smiled and took off the lid. She looked in and saw the water boiling. She grabbed the Crush Snake Fang and measured out 1 Tsp. Then she stirred three time clock wise. Next she added the Stewed Horn-Slugs and the Dried Nettles together and stired clockwise three times.
To her excitment the potion turned a copper color. Quickly she stirred counter-clockwise and the potion turned gold. So far she had gotten it right. She grabbed the Porcupine Qills and almost added them in. She looked up to check the directions again and she noticed she almost forgot to take the cauldron off the fire.
Circe took it off quickly a little embaressed. She added the quills after that. She looked up at the clock and timed 5 minutes. Those 5 minutes were so boring. She notcied that someone was already done. He looked like a pro but that didn't faze Circe. Once time was up she bottled the potion. Merlin only knows if her potion was done properly.

Lasair pulled out his cauldron, ladle, brass-scales, and ingredients. He looked down at his notes: Step 1: Bring your water to a boil. Lasair pulled out his wand.
"Incendio." he said.
A small fire started underneath his cauldron. He grinned to himself. Lasair waited for his potion to start to boil. Once it started to boil, Lasair measured out 1 tsp. of crushed snake fangs. He tossed them into his potion, and grabbed his ladle.
"Stir 3 times clockwise." Lasair mumbled to himself.
He dipped in ladle into his steaming potion. 1 stir around...2 stirs around...3. Lasair looked back at his notes: Step 3: Add the stewed horn-slugs and the dried nettles together before stirring clockwise three times. Lasair did as his notes commanded till his potion turned a copper-gold color.
"Haha." Lasair said happily to himself.
So far it looked like Lasair had done everthing right. He stirred his potion 3 time counter-clockwise. Now his potion was a bright gold color. He quickly extinguished the fire underneath his potion. He added the porcupine quills and let his cauldron sit.
He started cleaning up his area, when he noticed that Elliott's potion was sitting as well.
"How do you think you did?" Lasair asked him.

Artemis was practically bouncing in her seat. She always had a soft spot for potions, especially since she decided at the age of five to become a Healer. Writing down the instructions in her notebook, she quickly set up her station. She tied her hair in a messy bun, before looking back at her notes. 'Step one. Bring your water to a boil.' She turned on the heater and watch as the fire lapped against the cauldron. She waited patiently as the water slowly, but surely began to boil.
'Step Two. Add 1 Tsp. of Crush Snake Fang.Stir three time clock wise.' She grabbed the small bottle containing the crushed snake fangs and measured a teaspoon. Carefully, she threw it inside the cauldron and began to stir forward. one...two...three..
'Step Three:Add the Stewed Horn-Slugs and the Dried Nettles together before stirring clockwise three times.' She threw in the stewed horn-slug and the dried nettles, before stirring again. one...two...three... She watch as the potion turned into a copper color. She could barely suppress a squeal.
'Step Four. At which stir three times COUNTER-clockwise' Artemis grabbed her ladle and stirred backwards. one...two...three. The potion now turned a pretty shade of gold.
'Step Five. The copper color should now be gold, remove the cauldron from the fire and place in the Porcupine Quills. Do not stir But let set off the fire.' Quickly, she removed the cauldron from the fire and dropped in the porcupine quills. She sat back and waited for the five minutes to pass. She looked around the room and saw some students already done. She looked at her watch and realize that time already passed. she quickly bottle her potion and sat back with a satisfied sigh.

Erica Lightwood took quick notes and then started onto her potion. On the first try she ended u getting the potion perfectly thanks to the help of her early training. Glancing at Professor Snape she smriked her perfect smirk and then watched the others fail at the potion.

Taking his clip-bored Professor Snape made his rounds. Walking in between the rows of long black top tables. Looking over each students shoulder with a sneer.
"Miss Sommers," he said reading the role call list "Mmm, Slytherin too. Let us hope you don't bring shame to my house."
He glance over her work, "I see you think potions is a cooking class. Well this isn't your mothers kitchen."
He makes a mark on his parchment.
*Circe Sommer receives her marks for the class*
"Mr. Dames," Swiping over to the next victim in line who already had his sample out ready for him.
Taken a back. Snape sneer at the glass sample looking for fault.
"Showing off are we? " said Snape looking over his clip-bored

"Ruarc?" Regarding his paper work.
His hook nose hovers over the brew. Finding nothing at fault, he is further displeased. Hurry off grumpily.
*Lasair Ruarc receives his class marks. Nice post.
"Anther Hufflepuff! You seem to be breeding like rabbits Miss Zeal." He said glaring at her perky nature ignoring the agreeable state of her potion, "Save the hopping for the hares Miss Zeal and remain fix in your seat!"

Leaning over the cauldron of Miss Lightwood he dip his ladle in her brew. Bring the mix up to his face for exception.
"Miss Lightwood I expect this type of quality all the time. Do not fail! I would hate to have to ignore a member of my own house."

Miranda Fear set all of her equipment out and looked at the board. She then read over the list, making sure that she had all of the ingredients. Once she checked all on the list off, she poured water in her cauldron and then lit a fire underneath. Once she heard the sound of boiling water, Miranda then put in 1 Tsp. of Crush Snakes Fang into the boiling water. Then she picked up her ladel and stirred three times clockwise. Looking at the next set of directions, Miranda put in 1 Stewed Horns-Slug and 1/2 cup of Dried Nettles into the cauldron and stirred it three times clock wise again. She waited for the potion to turn a color. It did nothing at first, fear rising in Miranda's head, but then it turned to a copper color. Sighing with relief, Miranda stirred counter clockwise. Then once the potion turned gold, Miranda took the cauldron off the fire and put in the Porcupine Quills. She then waited five minutes, for seeing others did this as well. Then she put the potion into a flask and cleaned up her station. After she extinguished her fire, Miranda waited for the Professor to come and look at her potion.

He took up his personal ladle and poke around her cauldron.
"Mmm," which pass as a complement.

Prosper almost cringed at the sound of Professor Snape's voice. It wasn't horrible. It just sent shivers down his spine. That's all. All of a sudden, the directions appeared on the board. Sighing, Prosper lit the fire with his wand and brought out his materials. He then boiled the water in his cauldron before adding the Tsp. of Crush Snakes Fang. Then looking around the room, he stirred the potion three times clock wise. Once that was finished, Prosper added the Stewed Horns-Slug and 1/2 cup of dried Nettles and then stirred clock wise three times again. It slowly turned to a copper color before Prosper stirred the potion three times counter clock wise. Then again, the potion turned to a golden color. Prosper immediately took the cauldron off of the fire, adding in the Porcupine Quills. Prosper put a lid over the cauldron and let it sit for 5 minutes. Once the time was up, Prosper bottled his potion, after cleaning up his work desk. He then waited for the Professor to check his work with a small smile on his face.

Amaril Bence screwed up her face in concentration as she read over the procedure over and over. She definitely didn't want to screw up during his first Potions class. "Boil water." she mumbled to herself as she placed her cauldron over the flame and filled it with water. Easy enough.
"Now a teaspoon of snake fang." Again, she was mumbling to herself and she hoped nobody would judge her based on that. She carefully measured the ingredient and dumped it into the now-boiling water. The water steamed as Ami stirred it three time clockwise. So far, so good, she thought. Working without mumbling this time, Ami mixed together the horn-slugs and nettles before adding them to the potion as well. After stirring three more times clockwise, her mixture was the right copper color.
Three turns counter clockwise and the potion was gold. Ami was starting to feel confident about her first class with Snape. Finally, she added the porcupine quills and removed the cauldron from the fire. She cleaned up her table, and after 5 minutes, she ladled a sample into a bottle. It seemed a little thicker than the rest of the class's, but she didn't worry about it as she waited for the professor to check her work.
