"Good, Mr. Dames. Two points for Hufflepuff. Mr. Ruarc, which is the last school that participates in the Triwizard Tournament?"

Lasair couldn't help but grin. He loved stating the obvious.
"Hogwarts, of course." he said confidently.

"Good. Go ahead and take a point for Gryffindor. Obviously, I'm a bit too generous with house points."
Professor Schaefer was bouncing on her heels again. She didn't think she would be handing out house points like this, but she couldn't help it. She felt like she had some pretty smart students. She turned back to the board and flicked her wand once more.
The 14th Century
Witch Burnings
The Golden Snitdget population begins to fall rapidly in Britain due to hunting and its use in Quidditch.
Elfrida Clagg becomes Chief of the Wizards Council.
Bowman Write invents the Golden Snitch.
"You'll see on the board that the witch burnings occurred during the fourteenth century. As the magical world separates itself more and more from Muggle society, Muggles are particularly afraid of magic, but not very good at recognizing it, leading to persecution of suspected witches. Wendelin the Weird was burned at the stake 47 times in various disguises, using a Flame-Freezing Charm to protect her from the fire."
"Elfrida Clagg succeeded Burdock Muldoon and declares the Golden Snidget to be a protected species, forbidding its use in Quidditch. She also tried to establish a standard by which creatures would be given legal rights as 'beings,' but her attempts failed. That's when Bowman Wright invented the Golden Snitch to be its substitute."
"Now, I will give five house points to whoever can draw a decent picture of the Golden Snitch on the board using their wand. No pressure. Just give it a shot. The first to stand can draw it."

Lasair jumped to his feat, eager to get ahead of Slytherin, and Hufflepuff in points. He closed his eyes, and imagined an image of a snitch. He moved his wand in the shape of the snitch. He drew a small, walnut-sized ball. Lines across it. He traced over the wings in his mind. He opened his eyes. It wasn't a perfect picture, but not too bad.

"Great job, Mr. Ruarc! Five points for Gryffindor. Now for the last part of our notes for today."
Professor Schaefer turned back to the board and flicked her wand. The following appeared underneath all of the other notes:
1312: The Wimbourne Wasps Quidditch team is formed.
1312: Quidditch referee Cyprian Youdle is born.
1320: Floo powder inventor Ignatia Wildsmith dies.
1326: Nicholas Flamel is born.
1333: Perenelle Flamel is born.
1342: Chauncey Oldridge is born.
1357: Cyprian Youdle is killed by a curse from an angry spectator during a Quidditch match.
1362: The Wizards' Council bans all Quidditch matches within 50 miles of a town or village.
1368: The Wizards' Council bans all Quidditch matches within 100 miles of a town or village.
1379: Chauncey Oldridge, first victim of the dragon pox, dies.
1385: First recorded Quidditch match in Ireland. The match occurred between Irish warlocks and a team from Lancashire; we know of it thanks to an account from Zacharias Mumps.
1390: Gifford Ollerton, a famous giant slayer, is born.
1391: Famous Wizarding Duelist, Alberta Toothill, is born.
"Now I'll give you all a few minutes to go ahead and copy all of these notes down if you haven't already. Once you're all done, I'll go ahead and assign homework. If any of you have any questions at all, now is the time to ask them."

Elliott quickly copied his notes down from the board. Lasair was a pretty good drawer better than Elliott by far. Elliott's snitch would of been a nut with airplane type wings. Elliott sighed then kept on coping his notes down he was anxious to know what the homework was about and also disappointed because he knew that Gryffindor was in the lead for house points. "Professor Schaefer, may I ask will the homework be based on these notes or the whole lesson?" Elliott blurted out.

Lasair copied down the notes. He was pleased that Gryffindor was ahead, and a little guilty for taking all the points.
All well, he thought to himself, there'll be more chances for us all to get points.
Once he finished copying down the notes, he noticed a name that he wasn't familiar with. He raised his hand. He heard Elliott say something over the homework. Lasair hoped that it wouldn't be too hard.

Circe sighed as she took notes. She knew Gryffindor was ahead but Slytherin wasn't that far behind. She would have took the question but she wasn't very artistic. As much as she loves quidditch she couldn't draw at all. Circe was going to do her best to earn more house points. Circe looked from the board to her note pad to take notes. She heard a hufflepuff boy ask a question. She listened while taking notes.

Erica hadn't paied much attention to the class in the back of the room. Taking quick notes she slunched down about to go fall asleep. For her brother's were right this class was boring.

Professor Schaefer was smiling, excited that her first class seemed to have gone pretty well. She loved getting questions.
"The homework will kind of be your decision, Mr. Dames. You'll see what I'm talking about once I assign it."
She turned her attention to the Gryffindor boy.
"Yes, Mr. Ruarc. What's your question?"

Elliott nodded as Professor Schaefer answered his question then smiled as he finished the last bit of his note then listened to what Lasair had to say.

Circe read over her notes a few times once she was done. Some of it was interesting other times it was boring but she still read it. She read one part that caught her eye of the years 1362 and 1368. Being a quidditch freak she is she raised her hand in the air to ask a question.

Artemis was practically bouncing in her seat as the teacher explain the lesson of the day. She always loved history no matter what kind: Magical or Muggle whichever! She jotted down the notes and listen as Professor Schaefer answered questions.

(OOC: Lasair isn't replying, so I'm continuing. If you see this, you can go ahead and ask your question whenever.)
Professor Schaefer saw Miss Sommers raise her hand, kind of happy she was getting questions.
"Yes, Miss Sommers?"

Circe put her hand down and asked, "I was wondering why, in 1362, they didn't just move it back from 100 Miles in the first place? It seemed much safer to do that then risk being spotted at 50 miles."
